Ben Lawry is one of the true masters of sea kayaking. He has been on the water for about 30 years now, and has become one of the most recognized instructors in the game. Ben travels the open seas from Florida to Washington State (and everything in between), teaching paddlers new skills in all types of boats. He also gives us essential feedback and ideas as we test and build the next generation of lifejackets. Ben is originally from the UK and is also involved in the design process at British-based P&H Kayaks. When asked about his heroes Ben mentioned, “My wife, Elizabeth for letting me get away with the lifestyle that I have (thanks!)” and pro climber Ed Viesturs for “getting it done without a big scene.” Ben is a competitor winning this year’s Adirondack Challenge. He can paddle 10K in fewer than 40 minutes and 5K under 19. When asked about his training program Ben mentions, “nobody trains to get slower.” Of all of our products, Ben prefers the Willis.
