Spencer Cooke is an innovator. Some of you may know him as the inventor of the modern backband but did you know that young Mr. Cooke (aka Old Man River) has invented over 67 different secret hand shakes?! Of course you didn’t. That’s why we call them "secret" handshakes, dummy. Spencer is also the co creator of Lunch Video Magazine, The IR Triple Crown, The Big Gun Show and is the mastermind behind kayaking’s most famous animal videos: Buck Fever and Enter the Donkey. When he’s not busy revolutionizing the world from his NC headquarters, you might find Spencer tearing up a local playspot, making class V rapids look easy or getting a nasal douche on the Carolina coast. If you see Spencer walking around with a pretty girl and a baby, don’t worry, he did not knock up a highschool girl, that’s his wife Shari and their son Mason. (By the way, Spencer really did invent the ratchet backband that is now used in almost all kayaks)
