Time out with budding model, Bryan Owen

Recently I got a quick time out with Bryan Owen from Astral Buoyancy. Most people don’t know about Bryan’s modeling career so I decided it would be a good idea to shed some light on it.  It was great to get some relaxing time with Bryan on the river.  Below are a few of his comments and some really hot photos he posed for in Astral’s new Sea Wolf PFD (available Spring 2012).

Astral Aliens

Ever heard of the band “KAYAK“?

Well, we hadn’t either until today. Apparently these progressive rockers from the Netherlands had written a hit single about some Astral Aliens back in the day.

Rock on!

Check out LVM TV

Thank god for LVM. Actually, I don’t know if God had much to do with it. We should probably be more thankful to Daniel DeLavergne, Spencer Cooke and John Grace… Either way, as much as we’d want to be out there paddling with all of our homies whenever it rains, we’re usually here at the Astral office helping our customers and coming out with new designs. Luckily, we have LVM TV to give us recent updates of days of paddling we may have missed. Check out this most recent update starring Astral Divas Robin Betz and Adriene Levknecht. Here’s the link: LVM TVAdriene and Robin

By the way, I was really digging the music on the update. It’s a band from Raleigh called “A Rooster For The Masses”. Check them out on their Myspace page

Well, I better get back to work now…

Peace,

Yonton

I love my Astral… Man

Shane (Benedict) and I went to see the Southern Culture on the Skids SCOTS show on Saturday night. SCOTS is one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen and I definitely make it goal to see them whenever they come through town. This time the “Gore Gore Girls” played the opening show. The Gore Gore Girls were mostly impressive in their amazingly tacky getup, which included matching guitars and amps, matching boots and incredibly short pleather/vinyl dresses. Besides, what’s not to like about a band that wrote a song about Astral, man?

Ya’ll should just check this out: AstralMan

Happy Holidays!

Jared’s Art Show

We are lucky to work with people who have an eye for art here at Astral and Jared is no exception. He methodically scans the World Wide Web is search of provocative and entertaining photography. He understands that finding the photo can be as rewarding as taking the picture in the first place….This is actually a tremendously important service to society because these are the kinds of people that make randomly searching the internet fun. To clarify the importance of Jared’s work please refer to the following example…

If one were to Google the word “Kung Pao” they would expect to get a highly entertaining image like this (thanks to people like Jared)
