Even though she’s only 19, Adriene will talk smack with you on any subject as though she is a 20 year veteran. Adriene has become one of the top female kayakers in a short period time, and lets everyone know about it. I must admit her energetic approach to life, total lack of fear, and sense of humor pulls through for her on a regular basis.
Already Adriene has lived a legacy of "badass-dom" - born and raised in Michigan, she competed as a gymnast and nationally competitive swimmer in high school - now, well into her third sport - there is nothing much stopping this girl from rising to the top in the kayaking world. In her second Green River Narrows race ever in 2007, Adriene stepped it up big-time for her age and experience and raced the "Greenman" competition - placing an impressive third in the longboat (behind me 'smiles'), and tied for first in the short boat.
Adriene graduated from the World Class Kayaking Academy and moved to Asheville, North Carolina to become first and foremost a professional mad-bombing kayaker - but has also been attending Paramedic school and is about to be a professional life saver.
Some of Adriene’s favorite things are: her mom, country music, jaegermeister, men in uniform, noodle dishes, stomping Gorilla, and a good "belly laugh."
